Features

Unlock high-capacity harvesting with consistent performance with the new wider hinged drapers: HDR60 and HDF60

X9 1100 Combine and HDF60 Platform

Grain producers operating large fields with variable terrain and long harvest days need solutions that maximize productivity without compromising grain quality. The HDR and HDF 60 draper platforms are built to help cover more hectares per day—while protecting yield and maintaining consistent feeding in demanding harvest conditions.

By combining a 18.3-m (60-ft) working width with proven draper technology and intelligent automation compatibility, HDR and HDF 60 platforms enable operators to fully utilize high-capacity John Deere X9 combines with confidence.

Harvest more hectares per day

18.3-m (60-ft) cutting width maximizes daily output in large fields
Enables efficient utilization of X9 combine capacity
Fewer passes reduce time lost at headlands and overlap

Protect yield with consistent crop flow

Draper belts deliver smooth, even feeding to the center section
Minimizes crop bunching in high-yield cereals and canola
Reduces header losses, especially at higher ground speeds

Maintain cut quality across variable terrain

Excellent contour-following performance improves cut height consistency
Helps manage undulating terrain regions
Supports clean cutting in lodged or uneven crops

Operator confidence from the first pass

Compatible with Intelligent Initial Settings (IIS) to simplify setup
Faster time to optimal performance with reduced trial-and-error
Consistent results across operators and long harvest shifts

The result is higher operational efficiency, improved harvest consistency, and greater return on investment for large-scale producers.

X9 1100 Combine and HDF60 Platform

Improved throughput thanks to uniform feeding from the 3‑piece reel

X9 Combine and HDF50 draper with 3-piece reel

The 3‑piece reel is an advanced reel architecture designed to maintain smooth, consistent crop flow across the full width of the draper platform. Its three‑section structure allows each segment to follow ground and crop variations more effectively, improving feeding uniformity and reducing crop losses in challenging harvesting conditions.

Maximizes feeding consistency across the entire platform
Improves harvesting performance in challenging crop conditions
Reduced grain losses at the header
Improves visibility from the cab

Customers get more harvested crop, higher performance in tough conditions, and more consistent combine operation throughout the day.

Reel options for all crops, all conditions John Deere HD’s offer three options. Standard, Flip Over and CAM reel options. Furthermore, we have either a two piece or a piece reel options. New and improved with the HD’s is the maintained, tighter reel-to-cutterbar relationship (the critical gap), the reel also can reach out farther and lower with a 24 percent increase in reel torque compared to the 700FD HydraFlex™ Drapers. This draper makes quick work of all crops and conditions presented in front of it.

More confidence and less losses – with the new model year 2027 technology your operation gets smarter

Operator inside the cab

Smarter setup + cleaner turns: New model year 2027 technology brings Intelligent Initial Settings and ATTA Flex Knife Lockout.

Harvesting efficiency starts with two critical moments:

Your first pass—where setup determines performance.
Your headland turns—where crop loss often happens.

Model year 2027 introduces two intelligent features that make both moments easier, faster, and more productive.

Intelligent Initial Settings (IIS)

Benefit: Start harvesting sooner and with confidence.

Faster setup: Reduce initial adjustment time by 30–50 percent compared to manual trial-and-error.
Lower losses from the first acre: Begin within optimal spec—cut early-pass crop loss by 1–2 percent in variable stands.
Simplified operation: Guided presets for crop, moisture, and residue conditions.

IIS gets you into the sweet spot from pass one—so your first hour looks like your best hour.

X9 Combine harvesting small grain

ATTA Flex Knife Lockout

Benefit: Every turn counts—keep more crop in the tank.

Automatic headland optimization: Locks cutterbar and raises it near the reel during turns (when ATTA is ON).
Hands-free efficiency: No manual intervention—logic works automatically.
Reduced crop loss: Prevents kernels and stalks from being left behind at headlands.

Smarter turns mean less loss and more profit.

Harvest more acres per day

X Series Combine with 50-ft (15.2-m) Hinged Draper

Harvest acres faster than ever before with a 50-ft (15.2-m) John Deere Hinged Draper built off the 700D and 700FD Drapers’ proven foundation.

Harvest over 30 acres (12.1 ha) an hour of wheat and soybeans with one HDR50 and X9 1100 Combine – When in canola, you can expect to harvest 25 acres (10.1 ha) an hour.
Harvest an additional 33 acres (13.4 ha) per day with a John Deere 50-ft (15.2-m) Hinged Draper – Go across the field fewer times by covering an additional 33 acres (13.4 ha) per day compared to similar 45-ft (13.7-m) models at the same ground speed.

Follow the ground to capture more crop

X Series Combine with 50-ft (15.2-m) Hinged Draper

John Deere HDR and HDF Drapers follow the ground by pivoting, gliding, and flexing over uneven fields to provide the best cut possible.

Achieve the best of both worlds by adding a flexible cutterbar to a hinged draper, which already provides double the wing range of the MacDon® FD1 Draper – Hinged Drapers are available with a rigid knife on an HDR and a flexible knife on an HDF. The HDF Hinged Draper reduces missed crop when cutting on the ground in soybeans or lentils by 6 percent compared to MacDon and 2 percent compared to the HDR and RDF.*
- *NOTE: Theoretical internal John Deere study between a 13.7-ft (45-m) MacDon FD75, 640FD, HDR50, and HDF50 based on static machines by measuring the area between the knife and ground based on the average lowest pod.
Capture more crop by adjusting to the ground – Industry-exclusive hydraulic suspension separates the header from the combine, allowing it to float over the field for a more consistent cut. As the header approaches extreme field terrain, Active Feeder house Position Control automatically adjusts the feeder house height to position, enabling more float range in challenging fields
Harvest in difficult crop conditions – Capture downed crop with the push of a button on the CommandARM™ console to automatically raise the gauge wheels and extend your reel out and down. Harvest the most challenging lodged crop confidently with a 24 percent increase in reel torque (compared to the 700FD).
Keep a clean cutterbar no matter the field or crop – A more consistent distance between the reel fingers and cutterbar (compared to the MacDon FD145) ensures the crop is cleanly swept across the cutterbar and evenly fed into the combine throughout the full wing range.
Improve the consistency of stubble height by 25 percent compared to the MacDon FD1 – Achieve consistent stubble height behind the combine – an advantage for better seeding performance in no-till applications. Compared to the competition, operators no longer must leave the cab to set the cut height with John Deere height control gauge wheels. The draper automatically maintains the desired cut height while floating over the land.

All-day performance in all crops and conditions

X Series Combine with 50-ft (15.2-m) draper

The goals for harvest are simple – harvest on time and put more grain in the tank. The John Deere HDR and HDF Drapers not only harvest more bushels per hour and acres per day but capture more crops along the way.

Reduce cutterbar loss by 25 percent – John Deere Grain Saver Draper Belts help trap grain before it can roll past the cutterbar onto the ground (compared to standard draper belts) with a unique crosshair (+) design.
Cut header loss by up to 25 percent – Decrease header loss in high-volume canola with large fingered top augers (compared to non-fingered augers) that grab fluffy crops and pull them against the draper belts. Fingered top augers let you easily straight-cut canola.
Reduce center section losses by up to 45 percent - Capture more crop with the center section seal kit.
In-cab settings help you spend more time harvesting – In-cab header downforce adjustment saves time during the day compared to out-of-cab, by-hand adjustments on MacDon® models.
