In New Zealand two enterprising scientists are producing a fruit pulp-based flour that has an exciting range of potential uses in markets untapped by conventional wheat based products. Using a fermentation process and the introduction of a microbe scientists have been able take a fruit pulp product that is usually fed to animals or composted and transform it.

A ground breaking, two-and-a half-year, $15 million research project will provide investors and governments with a better understanding of agricultural development opportunities in northern Australia. This research is part of the Australian Government’s Agricultural Competiveness White paper released in September 2015.
