John Deere 8 Series Tractors receive major update

8 Series Tractor

CRESTMEAD, QUEENSLAND (3 March, 2021) — AS part of John Deere's largest product update in a decade, the John Deere 8 Series Tractor range, including the wheel 8R, two-track 8RT and four-track 8RX, has received an update that builds on a strong foundation of existing technology by providing new specialised options.

The lineup ranges from 230 to 410 horsepower with multiple transmission and engine options available, to meet the unique needs of diverse farming enterprises. Each also comes with industry-leading comfort, visibility and technology packages.

The Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS) is a new feature of 8R Tractors, that saves time when adjusting the pressure required for field and transport operations by changing tyre pressure when "road" or "field" settings are engaged on machines equipped with Independent-Link Suspension (ILS™). For road transport, increased pressure gives greater fuel efficiency, reduced tyre wear and improved ride and handling, while in the field, lower pressure and a larger footprint provides more lug engagement to reduce slip and ground pressure.

The Wheel 8R Tractor lineup offers seven different models which range from 230 to 410 horsepower and can be used to pull large planters and tillage equipment. Multiple front-axle choices are available and include mechanical front-wheel-drive or ILS adding more power to the ground, while improving ride and operator comfort.

Four different models of two-track 8RT Tractors offer 310 to 410 horsepower, and the widest row-spacing adjustability on offer, ranging from 182.2 cm (72 in.) to 406.4 cm (160 in.) in 10 cm (4 in.) increments. The two-track tractors provide a 23% larger footprint with less ground pressure and lower slip values compared to wheel tractors, making them ideal for row-crop work, straight-line pulling, and broadacre tillage. AirCushion™ axle suspension is standard and, when combined with the tractor's 4-post cab suspension, provides improved in-field ride quality.

The four-track 8RX Tractors combine the comfort and manoeuvrability of a wheel tractor with the pulling performance and flotation of a two-track tractor. This combination makes these machines ideal for pulling large implements in row-crop or small grain fields. Four different 8RX models are available from 310 to 410 horsepower.

The new integrated 3750 L capacity ExactRate™ Tractor Tanks on 8RX Tractors provide additional liquid capacity for tasks such as liquid fertiliser application with seeding and planting, enabling more time in the field and greater productivity by reducing the number of fills required.

All 8 Series Tractors come standard with JDLink™ connectivity, plus an integrated StarFire™ GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter™ display, AutoTrac™ guidance, and free access to John Deere Operations Center. The digital integration connects farm managers with their people, equipment and data to enable improved communication and the ability to make more informed decisions throughout the season.

The new 8 Series Tractors will be available to order from mid-2021. For more information visit the John Deere website or contact your local John Deere Dealer.
