the new X9

X9 Combines

Up to 70% more capacity in high yielding wheat

You have a tight harvest window and an even tighter profit margin. You need more productivity and low losses. You need a combine that can get as much done in a day as you need it to — day in and day out, season after season. You need an X9 Combine. These combines deliver an average of 45% more harvesting capacity across all crop types, with no sacrifice in grain quality — all while using 20% less fuel.1

  • Built for high capacity.

    Updated for more productivity.

The latest X9 Combine comes loaded with hardware and automation advances that make it one of the most capable combines ever. In addition to the tech we debuted last year, we added even more features to help raise the bar in your harvest productivity. For starters we gave it an optional power folding ladder, which lifts and lowers automatically when you enter or exit your cab. You can even lower it right from your seat with a single button.

To accommodate larger heads, we added a 35-ft (10.7-m) power folding unloading auger. It gives you more clearance between larger heads and your grain cart, making unloading more comfortable.

    Updated for more productivity.

To give you longer time between unloads, we also gave the X9 an optional 550-bu (19,400-L) grain tank that includes heavy-duty final drives. That extends your capacity when opening fields or making long runs.

In addition, the Tru-Thresh™ concaves feature an updated, modular design that makes changing concaves easier than on previous models, and optional remote concave and separator grate covers allow you to adjust right from the cab.

Automation

Predictive Ground Speed Automation

The optional Ultimate Technology Package includes Predictive Ground Speed Automation. Using two forward, cab-mounted stereo cameras, the X9 constantly measures crop height and volume – while pre-harvest satellite field images generate a predictive field map. The combine takes this data and automatically adjusts ground speed BEFORE entering changing crop areas. Feel confident to maintain peak feed rates all day long, even in inconsistent crop conditions. That helps you increase combine capacity while minimising grain loss.

Harvest Settings Automation

Harvest Settings Automation – included in the Premium and Ultimate Technology Packages – makes it easier than ever to set the specific outcomes you expect. Using your G5Plus Display, simply set acceptable limits for grain loss, foreign material, and broken grain. Once set, the combine automatically adjusts itself to deliver the performance you want. No more manually adjusting rotor speed, fan speed, and concave, chaffer, and sieve clearances. The combine does it for you according to outcomes you've already prescribed. That gets you into crops faster and reduces the things you have to constantly monitor.

AutoTrac™ Turn Automation with Header Raise/Lower

More and more operators are discovering the hands-free confidence AutoTrac Turn Automation (ATTA) gives them during in-crop turns. But they still had to remember to raise and lower the header. Not anymore. We've added the capability to automatically raise and lower your header—at the right time and the right place. That's one less task to worry about, so you can concentrate on more important things.

Auto Unload

There's a lot to focus on during harvest, especially when you're dealing with multiple machines and tight harvesting windows. Auto Unload uses an auger-mounted camera to constantly detect the grain fill level inside your moving cart. As it detects the fill, it automatically sends nudge commands to the tractor to move the grain cart forward and backward to evenly fill.

Auto Unload is available as a factory install on new John Deere S7 and X9 Combines or as a precision upgrade on select older S700, S7, and X9 Combines.

JDLink™ Boost

Stay connected when it matters most. JDLink Boost helps strengthen your JDLink Modem7 to keep you connected in areas with heavy canopies and limited mobile coverage. It is designed to provide continuous machine and field monitoring to support timely, informed decisions during harvest. You can send guidance lines, prescriptions, plans, and work records to your in-cab display, and wirelessly move data between the machine and John Deere Operations Center™. The system also improves diagnostics and troubleshooting with remote access.
