Ready for Stage V

Ready for Stage V

John Deere is ready to work, ready to generate, and ready to run with engines meeting EU Stage V emissions regulations. This means OEM customers currently using a John Deere engine with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) won’t have to re-engineer their machines to meet the requirements of Stage V regulations. John Deere has been using DPF technology since Interim Tier 4/Stage III B and is well positioned to help customers transition to the EU’s Stage V standard. John Deere has extensive experience with the development and integration of DPFs in both John Deere and OEM equipment, with more than 425 million DPF hours* in the field. OEMs new to the technology will then be able to leverage the John Deere experience as they transition to Stage V.

Stage V John Deere range

The John Deere lineup of Stage V ready engines is optimized for increased torque response, low-speed torque, fluid efficiency, and provides responsive power at higher altitudes. The lineup of Stage V ready engines from John Deere includes engine displacements of 2.9L, 4.5L, 6.8L, 9.0L and 13.5L with ratings of 36-448 kW (48-600 hp).

Reducing particulate numbers and mass

The European Commission’s Stage V emissions regulations limit particulate number (PN) in addition to particulate mass for all engines in the 19 to 560 kW power band. By doing so, engine manufacturers will need to limit ultrafine particulate emissions.
